02-22-06 - Ok a little run down of what's been going on here at boards2go.com. We had to change the company that supplies us with pop ups to Bravenet.com. Please do not complain about the new structure. Now you get one pop when you enter, and one pop after that, and that should be it! I do not like it either, but fastclick has terminated our account due to one of our users violating TERMS OF SERVICE.
Kind of been busy with the whole finding new advertiser thing lately. Haven't had much time to code. Hopefully, boards2go.com will get accepted into a better network. Sorry guys ;[.
01-26-06 - As promised sign-ups are back today, but still on the b2 server. Some problems setting up the new server, but b2 should be able it to handle it for a few days.
Also I am going to have to modify the anti-spam program we've been testing on the support board and sample board. I will keep you updated on that as well. Sorry it's taking so long I just have alot of crap going on in my life.
01-24-06 - Ok, first if you are tired of those spam bots!@!!! you should be happy about this news update. I just finished the security word feature for posts and replies to posts. Basically your users will have to fill in a security word before they can post anything... It shouldn't be too much of a hastle and as always this feature is optional. Read about it on our support board.
About New Sign-ups! - they will be available in 2 days! On the 26th we are getting a new server and then we'll be back in business with the new sign ups.
I've worked hard on this new feature I hope it helps the spam problem and hope you guys appreciate it.

01-14-06 - Ok, server 2 went down today around 5pm EST. I did not return until 12:40 AM so the server reboot is in progress... I have suspended new signups on the b2.boards2go.com servers as it cannot handle the load. The server keeps dying so I am going to set up b6.boards2go.com.
Also on another note, signups will be disabled for a week or so. I have to do this in order to fight the people that are attacking my site via spamming the b2g url on other sites and then using their board maliciously... I will keep you updated.
Lastly, edit post feature has been not working on the main server, I will also try to fix that but currently I have no idea why it's not working...
11-26-05 - The edit post feature on the main server (this one) was out of order for a while. A wierd glitch caused it not to work. Well it is fixed now yay!.
Also new sign ups are still disabled, please check the signup page for more information.
Lastly, if you signed up for ad free, everyone has been credited. Sorry for the delay, I was out of town for the holidays.

04-03-05 - Registered Users feature is easier to use. I put it so that usernames and passwords are stored in cookies, please visit the support board for an example. Also we are in the testing stage so only the boards2go.com main server boards are enabled with this new "feature". And as always, registered users is a "feature".. which means it is optional.
08-17-04 - Over the weekend users on the b2.boards2go.com server experienced their boards being deleted and not being able to post new messages. The reason was that our server ran out of hard drive space therefore not being able to write your data. We have cleaned up and your boards should be working again. Sorry for this problem. We didn't even think to look at that as a problem as we were looking in our code. Hope you guys continue enjoying the free message boards here at boards2go. Cheers! -Joe
07-14-04 - There have been some inappropriate ads on our site. That problem will hopefully be taken care of tomorrow morning. If you have specific banners that are causing problem, PLEASE POST THEM IN THE SUPPORT AREA! Thank you for your help and patience.
06-22-04 - Email notification problem has been resolved! Forgot password and email notification should work for all users (including aol users). Also we have added a banner to help with server costs. And a known bug in the search feature is currently being sorted. Cheers.
03-19-04 - There has been spam for porn being posted on alot of our members boards. Expect this to stop today. We have just coded some security mesures. If anyone sees these spam postings again, please let me know via the support forum.
Also we are in the proccess of investigating the origins of this spamming. We are going through the sponsors located on the spamming website and we will do everything in our power to make sure the guy spamming gets his account shut down.
12-18-03 - Our site sendmail is expreiencing problems... Will correct soon, sorry about delay, but I am taking finals right now.

09-04-03 - If your message board was on the b4.boards2go.com server, you MUST recreate your account. Signups are now enabled! Please sign up for your account again, we are now taking measures to back up data on a weekly basis to a remote location.
09-04-03 - Sad day. Our b4.boards2go.com server has been hacked. If you had an account on the b4.boards2go.com server, you MUST sign up for another account. We are in the process of getting a new server right now, so please be patient.
11-26-02 - Signups were messed up yesterday, so if you signed up for a board and got an invalid username error, please re-signup. Everything is working properly now.
Tonight I will be going home for Thanksgiving. I will continue to monitor the servers from home, but will not get to answer emails. Happy Thanksgiving to all, hope you have lots of good turkey! And I would like to thank my staff again for always being there even when I am not :].
11-20-02 - I am extremely sorry about the downtime experienced this weekend. I was out of town and the server crashed 2 times. I am going to implement a system where users have to DIRECTLY link to their boards. What this means is that if you currently link to http://www.boards2go.com/boards/board.cgi, but your board rests on the b2g3.com server, you will be forced to change your link to http://www.b2g4.com/boards/board.cgi. Why? Simple, we have grown to a size where if all boards are using our main server (boards2go.com) to redirect to a server, our main server crashes from the large number of requests. Starting tomorrow, if you are not directly linking to your board, you and your members will receive a message instead of being taken directly to your board.
10-31-02 - Happy Halloween guys. I know I am very very very very very very busy this semester. But only this semester. Next semester I should have tons of time. And by the way, please don't send me emails... I probably won't get to it :(. I promise new features in a few months tho.

8-29-02 - Couple things. School is almost starting, so I took a couple weeks off the computer to enjoy the last bit of summer :/. That's why there hasn't really been new features. Also, as you know signups are down for 2 reasons. 1) Violations and 2) No server space. Right now we are only accepting signups from people who donate. The funds collected from the donations will help pay for our fourth server. Sorry about the delay guys, and I promise atleast ONE more feature before school starts (sept. 3rd).
8-12-02 - Yesterday around 2PM, our b2g2.com server went down. Let me clear up some rumors. b2g2.com is not "the glitchy" server. All servers do go down from time to time. Boards2go.com and b2g3.com servers have gone down in the past as well.
In any case, I am sorry it took around 8 hours to resolve the issue. I did not find out about the outage, until 10 PM that night. Sorry ;].
8-03-02 - No big features today, but you can set the character limit on name, email, subject, and message field. It's in the "Set Preferences" area. So head on over and make changes. This should deter people from posting rediculously long subjects/names.
7-30-02 - Ok, I stayed up all night, and here are the results !

7-29-02 - New graphics search for boards2go.com. We tried to put it up, but not yet working... We get errors so we contacted gograph.com about this problem. It should be up tomorrow.
7-25-02 - No real news, except that I am going to let you have the option of either A) having banners on every page or B) have an InValue ad once on the main page per 12 hours To see what an InValue ad looks like click here. Popunders will still remain as it keeps our site going.
7-17-02 - As promised, the post as admin feature is working now. The admin area requires you to have cookies enabled. If you do not enable cookies you will get an "invalid username" error! So enable your cookies and have fun with this nifty little feature :P.
7-15-02 - I am redoing the entire admin area. You guys won't notice the difference, but we will be using cookies to login to the admin area. We will be using session cookies so that people with fairly high privacy settings will be able to still login.
Post as admin feature is going to be worked on as well. This feature *should* be done by July 17th. But if it comes earlier I'll let you guys know right here !
7-11-02 - Ok, right now b2g2.com server is being WAY over worked. So to balance the load, I am switching some users over to the b2g3.com server and also new signups will go on the b2g3.com server.
7-09-02 - Three things on the agenda.
1. Please look at our FAQ first, then our Support Forum, and at last resort email.
2. Ban feature is now working properly.
3. Server1 (boards2go.com) went down for about 10 minutes. It was rebooted.
6-26-02 - Added a feature called "Spacing between threads". Instead of HR lines, you can now have extra spacing. Also workin on other features. Thanks for supporting us :).
Also many of you have asked for larger message boards. We are still trying to figure out a way to give this to you. But no promises sorry :(.
6-18-02 - Size of code reduced by around 1/2. So hopefully our servers will be faster ! In any case cut the code size down from 16kb to around 8kb. If you guys were interested ;).
6-11-02 - Currently working on reducing the size of our board code. We might have to stop giving out free accounts due to lack of funds. We will need to get another server, to make room for new users :/. We might do a paid approach but I really don't want to do that. If you have suggestions, let me know :/
6-10-02 - If you are getting an invalid username error, do not worry. It's just that our second server is down right now. We sent in a trouble ticket to our service provider. It should be rebooted shortly. Please do not worry, your message boards have not been deleted ! Sorry about this problem.
6-07-02 - Sign-ups are enabled right now. Please sign up for an account.
If you do not wish to have advertisments (banners/pops) on your board, please click "Remove Banners" or "Remove Pops" in the Ad-Free option when you login to your account.
6-06-02 - 2 News items for today. Sign-ups will be enabled on the 7th. I can't promise how long they will run for. We are going to have to stop accepting members soon, so get an account while you can.

6-03-02 - If you registered and you are getting an "invalid user" error then this means your account has not been created. We have disabled signups currently due to the lack of server resources. You need to sign up again when it is enabled. We will keep you updated, so keep checking this page.

5-25-02 - Server was once again removed from the name server. It is up now ;/. I complained to them, so this should not happen again !
5-01-02 - New site design completed. Hope everyone likes it a bit better than the old design. I promise new features are coming in late May through August. I will probably work on the Administrative Posts appear in a certain color. This feature will require that you use the "Registered User" feature along with it.
4-28-02 - The b2g2.com server was down for about 6 hours because our server company somehow erased our records from their name servers. So the server wasn't actually down, just unreachable for most users. Problem fixed...
