During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

[Alright, folks, if you have already replied to the active check, do me a huge favor and post in response to this post. I'm just testing out the waters and seeing if I can rally the old Munashii Gekko pack for a quick hunt. And I do mean quick--at least we play our own prey now! :P ]

Bones, sinking like stones,
All that we fought for,
Homes, places we've grown,
All of us are done for.

A howl. It perforated the thick air with distinct ease, a smooth but startling outcry in such a quiet forest that seemed to any onlooker as if completely desolate. Abandoned. Wracked with terror from the baneful mischief of the Beasts that searched the lands for its most precious jewels.
But Takara would not be torn asunder by the sanguinary monsters that threatened everything they held so dear. Despite her injuries, her concerns, she would remain strong.

Everything was different now; it involved more than just the fate of Blossom Forest, but the fate of her once close-knit family as well.
Her mate had gone missing, her son with him. She was shocked and filled with a grief that was almost as painful as the jolt of lightning, but in a more searing and permanent manner. What if they had been taken from her by that…that…brute?

She’d use every ounce of energy from her amulets left to maim him until he was cut into pieces that were spattered with his blood.

And we live in a beautiful world,
Yeah we do, yeah we do,
We live in a beautiful world.

It was as surreal for the Alphess of Munashii Gekko as waking from a very long, excruciatingly painful dream. Even her personality had been dramatically altered. All it had taken was the words of Kaive, asking for her aid, and the granted ability of the priceless amulets.
That had been enough to turn her physical, mental, familiar, and emotional life upside-down and into the utter blackness that was chaos.

So much for increasing entropy in her mind, let alone the Universe.

Trying times had befallen the land known as Blossom Forest—her home now for many a blessed year—and the wolves that were bound to the land held such a majestic link to it that the bonds combined their fates into one. When the world they resided in prospered, so did they.

When it withered, so did their spirits…and many other facets of their lives.

Takara’s life seemed to be shattering from the inside out; namely, it had begun with the destruction of mass quantities of this massive place they called home, followed by the subsequent failure in the battle against the Beasts. The injury the had resulted from lightning wracking her frame would cripple her in the most peculiar manner for the rest of her life, and she knew not how to deal with it. On the will of spontaneity alone, her heart would randomly give out at the most inopportune of times. But it could be remedied…
Provided she was shocked with another sound bolt of electricity first. Oh, her nerves and her hair would be frazzled for a long time after such cumbersome endeavors!

Bones, sinking like stones,
All that we fought for,
And homes, places we've grown,
All of us are done for.

Ignoring the pain that continued to course through her body like vicious wildfire, she continued to throatily project her soulful howl, a ballad that stretched far and wide across the lands. It was a summoning of her pack, a calling to her friends and allies, her most trusted confidantes…
And to her family. If any of them remained, naturally.

Atae sensed her mother’s presence long, long before her timely arrival and intrusion at the borders of the densely-wooded area, the foliage allowing spare rays of light to fall onto her mother’s dual pelt like a beacon that beckoned her before a breath was exhaled in a sweet but sad song. She had been lying sullenly in a patch of lichen under a sturdy tree, determined to shield her onyx pelt from both the humid glare of the sun and from the other members of the pack. The members that had stayed, when every other family member she had ever known had disappeared without even a simple scent marker for her to pursue. She had been bound to this land since puppyhood, and had refused adamantly to see it in ruin, but now that her mother was back…the mother that, for so long, she had been neglected by for “more important” duties (though even in Atae’s heart of hearts, she knew her mother was right to protect the land that both of them loved; without her protection, Atae and many others might not even be in the land of the living), maybe things could be better.

At least better than they had been prior.

And we live in a beautiful world,
Yeah we do, yeah we do,
We live in a beautiful world.
Here we go, here we go…

She was nearing adulthood, and despite her lack of maturity and independence due to a distinct and horrendous lack of serious parenting (though no real fault of either parents, considering the disastrous peril of their home), she was ready to branch out and set off on her own soon. Her frame was tall and sleek, her coat thick and lustrous, her hazel eyes filled with enigmatic mystery that enticed.
Her allure would be difficult for many males to pass up.

But even she saw the homecoming for what it was—a rebirth, a second chance, and she instantly washed away any feelings of bitter resentment to make way for love and peace. Serenity was something long denied her tortured soul.
Without even realizing her agility, Atae carried herself from the tree’s side to her mother’s in several spans of a heartbeat, her tongue fanning out as she breathed with erratic excitement at the reunion that was so close it was almost tangible. With an abrupt halt, she stood before her mother, tongue lolling in an innocent grin as her mother spoke.

“Atae, sweetheart, thank goodness you are alright. You have gotten so big in my stead…gracious, I don’t feel as if any time has passed. And yet it has, sadly.” Her mother paused, tilting her head as she nuzzled her. “My little one, how I’ve missed you.”

And she dissolved into tears and melted into her mother’s embrace.

And we live in a beautiful world,
Yeah we do, yeah we do,
We live in a beautiful world.

“Don’t leave me again, Mama, don’t ever go away…I’ll not leave your side, I swear it!” Atae sobbed wretchedly, sniffling as she tried to reconstruct what was left of her resolve, Takara watching with a sort of heart-broken adoration.

She merely brought her daughter closer to her, shushing her as she lapped at the tears as a hint of moisture dabbed at her own. “I’m here, little one, and I love you. I won’t be going away again. I’ve got too much here to think of…to love…to protect and cherish.”
After several moments, Atae calmed and quieted, and the distinct absence of silence gave way to the fact that other pack members must be on the rise.

“It is good to be home. I don’t suppose anyone can tell me what I’ve missed?” Atae let out a short bark of a laugh as her mother spoke the words, and Takara could only chuckle as the first wolf penetrated the foliage surrounding them.

Oh, all that I know,
There's nothing here to run from,
'Cause everybody here's got somebody to lean on.
