During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

I want to live life, and never be cruel
I wanna live life, and be good to you

And I wanna fly
I'll never come down
And live my life
And have friends around

The rapid change in the winds gave way to a rapidly-paced, approaching figure, easily putting an end to the touching moment between the mother and daughter. Stopped it, yes, but Atae stood closer to her mother, and Takara nudged at her lightly, as both females’ stances proudly rose to the image of a happy and healthy family, secure and reunited at long last. Two very differently colored wolves with the exact same eyes, and they were prepared for whatever came through the brush…one could never be too cautious.

It was Silence that appeared first, his face pulled into the most uncharacteristic façade that Takara had ever before witnessed upon his face—it was peculiar, but it gave her a sense of breathtaking peace, and she could only return the light gesture.

A smile.

A beacon in the darkness. They had lost the battle, but the war was still to come. So, despite all the desperation and reckless abandon that had become of certain areas of Blossom Forest that they had tried and failed to save, there was still time to benefit from the lessons, and to save what was left.
To save their own souls, even. What a concept—but it was enough. And it could make things look brighter all the time. As Takara nodded her head in a formal but very familiar greeting to the most faithful of the pack, another figure appeared behind him—Hope. It took the Alpha female aback, but it delighted her just the same. An exclamation proved such, Takara’s wide hazel eyes watching her now lowered form.
“Hope! It is wonderful to see you.” How disappointing that she no longer had a pack to lead through all, but if she was looking for a new place to begin again, she’d be more than welcome here.
She shook her head as she grinned. “There is no need to submit to me, Hope, rules or no. Having fought alongside you, I could never consider you a threat—a trusted ally, certainly, but even your skills could not make me distrust you.” She beckoned for her to rise, her stance held as if she were amongst friends rather than subjects, and Atae was quick to follow suit, her tail lashing to and fro at the realization that Hope was her mother’s friend; she’d already known Silence was. He may have seemed like a stoic wolf, but he was just an old softie inside, or so she was led to believe.

We never change do we?
No, no
We never learn do we?
So I wanna live, in a wooden house
I wanna live life, and always be true
I wanna live life, and be good to you

“Welcome to both of you. Hope, if you are looking for a place to stay, you need not look any farther—I insist you stay here.” A pleasant gleam twinkled in her eyes, relieved to be getting back to much happier occasions as opposed to grave ones. t that she minded protecting what was rightfully theirs from the sanguinary beasts, but it wasn’t pleasant work by any means. There was no doubt in her mind, either, that it would take long for Hope to acquire herself a rank in the pack; her skills had already been tested and proved ten times over, and after the hunt she intended to have, Takara would be completely in her right to give her a position she deserved. It would be unfair to do immediately after her acceptance, despite her former position and the witnessing of her battle skills and leadership abilities.

The twinkle in her eyes only glinted brighter when she set her sights upon Silence, who had taken to the outskirts of the limelight.
“I hope you intend on sticking around a bit more often in the future, Silence, because the pack will have great need of their Beta in the future.” Lamonderay’s jealousy be damned, Silence had pulled more than his share of weight around here, and he deserved to be rewarded for his fealty. No, his loyalty—he was not a lowly subject, but a friend who had resided here for more years than either Alpha.
And she didn’t suspect Lamonderay would be coming back. Denim had more than likely taken after him, or gone on his own to start over with a new, adult life. Takara, sadly, mused that Atae might soon grow restless and do the very same.

With a quiet sigh and a quick glance around, she realized a great burden had been lifted from her shoulders…but it still struck her as tragic that they hadn’t been able to save a land as beautiful as the Bright Moon Pack from utter destruction. Hope still seemed as if she had not yet recovered; physically, she appeared fine, but something about her seemed slightly off, and it only put the notion more firmly in Takara’s mind that she would remain here.

And I wanna fly
But never come down
And live my life
And have friends around

They would not permit the same fate as Hope’s lands to befall Munashii Gekko.

With a concerned look assuming her features, she took a moment to consider Kaive, Jenygre, and Felicia. Were all of them alright?
“Do you know how any of the others are doing? I’ve been so worried.” Sincerity dripped from her tone, but she had been too wise to mention any specific names, lest she send either of them into a state of sadness, moroseness, or depression over the events. A general query was simple enough to show her inner turmoil without unleashing it upon anyone else.

Atae cocked her head to the side as well, her eyes widening as it dawned on her that, while her mother seemed fine—if a bit frazzled (her hair seemed to be standing on end…odd…), those she had battled beside could be injured badly or worse. The concept of death was still so foreign to her it made her shiver inside, a chill coursing through her as she averted her gaze. No one else seemed to be answering her mother’s call. How, then, were they to have a hunt? She was quite hungry, and still quite unfamiliar with the skills necessary to perform such a task, either! With her impatience showing, she pawed the ground and lifted her own muzzle to yip, bark, and howl several times, giving the uncontested impression of someone calling “Hurry up, please!” Her brow furrowing, she wondered where her darned brother was. Why oh why hadn’t he been taking care of the pack with Dad? He was such a lazy bum, indeed, but that was no cause for this laxness.

We never change do we?
We never learn do we?
So I wanna live in a wooden house
And making more friends would be easy

Apparently, as close as Atae had come to adulthood, her childlike tendencies had not evaporated completely. It would take more time than usual, considering she had not been given much guidance as she grew, and Denim had fared the exact same. If they didn’t catch on soon, it might take time for them to get used to the real world resting patiently outside the pack’s borders like a calm predator.

Come to think of it, Atae hadn’t seen Dad around, either. Where were they? She’d been here the whole time and not caught more than occasional glimpses of both of them. She felt cheated out of her own heritage, for it seemed that her father played distinct favoritism with her brother. At this rate, he’d stay in the pack forever and earn himself rewards and ranks and she’d be kicked out onto her behind.

Nepotism was only okay if it included everyone, thank you very kindly. Atae huffed, and quietly turned back to the adult’s conversation—her maturity came out at long last, then, sitting down amiably but at a respectful distance, acknowledging that she had no business butting in to the conversation. Not like she’d understand the half of it, anyway, considering she’d been but a pup and not allowed near the fight when all this had begun. Silence had just become the Beta, though, had he not? About time…Mom had favored him for ages, considering he’d been the oldest member of the pack. And he was a hard worker, diligent, and passive.

She liked him, she thought. Hadn’t he been the one that Dad didn’t like? She couldn’t imagine why—he seemed so nice, and evidently, his sister was as well!

Oh, and I don't have a soul to save
Yes and I sin every single day
We never change do we?
We never learn do we?

So I want to live in a wooden house
Where making more friends would be easy
I wanna live where the sun comes out…
