During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

Silence stood well…silently…by as Takara addressed Hope. He saw the almost forlorn look on his sister’s face as she rose again, still uncomfortable and not quite understanding what to do. The cheery attitude of Takara helped the matter out, and Hope gave half a smile in return. Life wouldn’t be so bad living under the rule of one she knew. Silence understood that, and Takara proved her worth by a simple statement that she couldn’t distrust Hope or her intentions.

Feeling more relaxed knowing that his sister was accepted and welcomed warmly, Silence allowed himself a moment of looking towards the future. The little things were done, and now…well…hopefully they’d be able to get on with their lives. When the beasts showed themselves again, he would take as much revenge as he could. For all the damage they had done, there was a lot of revenge to take. Then again, the group of wolves who had once been merely thrown together now knew each other to some extent. The feeling of fighting as a team with friends was a better feeling than knowing you were merely fighting under the rule of Jenygre and Kaive. Silence had great respect for the two wolves, and even more since their struggles together.

Takara’s attention had turned to him now, and Silence listened with a strict control over his features. Still…the news was enough to give him pause and struggle with the control. With a deep bow of his head, he murmured his humble thanks. ”You honor me too much.” And when he rose his gaze again, the bright strength had returned. He was a warrior, a little battle weary and yet he could live on. And he would. He caught Hope’s smile of congratulations, and let his features melt again into a faint smile. He didn’t know what it would be like to suddenly have some control over pack matters, to give Takara and her daughter some relief from relentless opinions and small things needing care.

Hope had stayed quiet the whole time, seating herself as Silence obtained his victory ‘medal.’ She always knew that one day he would rise to a good rank, and if not then he would start a pack of his own. He had that kind of strong presence, causing other males to worry. Yet Atae caught the gist of Silence, he was a softie at heart. He always had been, no matter how bad things had gone or how ruthless he had been, Silence still had mercy and a soft heart. Hope smiled for him, smiled to let him know she was happy for him. Then she looked back to Takara and blinked at the question.

Hope herself was worried. After Silence had urged her to go with him, she had been approached by Waptumewi. The one wolf who had risked his life to help save her pack had asked for forgiveness. Asked that Hope would not hate him for being weak and falling out of the fight so quickly. She hadn’t been able to say anything before he ‘excused’ himself. In his terms it went along the lines of ‘so you don’t have to look on me anymore.’ And then he was gone. That was the strongest sadness that weighed on Hope’s heart. Knowing that another wouldn’t come near her because of his own self-doubt. She hoped he would find a good pack to stay in, with an Alpha he could trust. Hope was concerned about the others as well. Silverstar was most likely with Kaive, the female would follow until her services were no longer needed. Jenygre too was a concern. Hope knew that Silence had taken a liking to Kaive’s brother, a male to be a sort of idol. And Felicia. Hope closed her eyes a moment, knowing that she had done so little to help the young one out. Her power had been minuscule at the time, and her efforts only brought her a deep headache and pain of her own.

”I am sure they are fine. They could not have faired worse than you.”

The words were out of her mouth before Hope realized she had spoken. A questioning look from her brother was returned with an uncomfortable shifting where she sat. She hoped Atae wasn’t quite listening, else the young one would question what that meant. Hope only meant the lightning, and yet it sounded so wrong. Silently berating herself, Hope was glad when Atae gave off her own yips and barks of asking others to hurry, even more so when Faith appeared. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Silence dip his head in greetings to the wolf.

”Greetings to you.” She murmured, not quite trusting herself to speak again. It was really Takara’s move of what to reply. So long ago it felt that Hope should be the one to smile at the My lady and give a small nod and greeting in return. But she would rule over a desperate and lonely place if she had stuck to Bright Moon. Hope knew when she was defeated, and knew that if she tried to raise a pack in her old territory, she would most likely be laughed at or considered crazy. The place reeked of the beasts, the shattered trees making the place deserted to birds and forest life. No, Hope didn’t know if she would ever be able to take that strain again.
