Visited Windmill Ranch to check on spring drainage conditions today. Birds seen on Carden Alvar were Ospreys, 7 Sandhill Cranes, Great Blue Herons, Pied-billed Grebes, and Loggerhead Shrikes. On Windmill Ranch Wilson's Snipes, Green-winged Teals, nesting Canada Geese, Mallards, Field Sparrows, Song Sparrows, American Tree Sparrows, Savannah Sparrows, Vesper Sparrows, Swamp Sparrows, Horned Larks, Great Blue Herons, Northern Harriers, Eastern Meadowlarks, and Mourning Cloak butterflies. Frogs calling included Leopard, Wood, Western Chorus Frogs and Spring Peepers. Replies: There have been no replies.
