Cameron Ranch and Windmill Ranch are owned by the Nature Conservancy Of Canada and will be turned over to Ontario Parks in four years. A working committee has been set up of stakeholders to make decisions on these properties until they become Ontario Parks. We on the committee have agreed that access to these properties should be logged by Ron Reid at the Couchiching Conservancy. If you want to gain access on a certain day contact Ron and if this does not interfere with any other activities on that particular day then in most cases access will be granted but there could be restrictions due to nesting species at risk birds and other rare flora and fauna on the properties. These properties are leased by a local rancher for cattle grazing so care is needed around these herds that may contain one or two bulls throughout the year. Studies are also underway to enhanced the grasslands for shrikes and other grassland birds. Replies:
