The Valley
Between the Meadow and the Field is the third of Beqanna’s Common Grounds. A rolling valley is bisected by a broad and shallow river. The grass is thick and lush, and this is a good place for a stallion to live with his family if he does not yet have a herd land.

 | Piranhas are considered the most ferocious of all creatures. They do not even bother to kill their prey—they eat them alive, often taking a chunk out of each other in the process. The water churns red with blood when they eat. They can strip an animal of its flesh in mere minutes. And they are not beautiful, which is in fact the main difference, the ONLY difference, in between Asra and a piranha.
She is an Anglo-Arabian. She is beautiful, finely featured with the Arabian blood, and strong and swift from her Thoroughbred side. And she is not tall at 15.2. She is the Piranha of the Neem Pech, my spider, and do not let her beauty deceive you. She is a heartbreaker, and would be willing to take your heart and break it as soon as it is hers.
Oh, how she loathes this Shark. An irritated look crosses her striking features, yet then it dissolves into that ghostly calm. She trembles in slight delight when Billie Joe touches her, yet she is not interested in the Mosquito. Her main interest is Dragon. She comes to the group. And she speaks, and the coldness and sharpness betrays her feigned innocence.
“Piranha. Now, let’s cut the crap, not waste our time, and actually have some intelligent conversation. We were as careless as to have an information leak, and I want to be sure that this will not happen again. Are you listening? We must not let this happen again. Furthermore, only five of us are known. Dragon, Tiger, Shark, Bull, and Fox. Luckily, few of us were known and I credit you for being at least that much cautious.
“There is a group forming, called the La Difesa. With the permission of Dragon I would like to go in and check out what they are doing along with a small group of spies, or if needed, alone. I also will be joining the Dewdrop Deserts and later perhaps we will bring justice to the traitor, The Archer. I also would like to ask that we be careful who we let join. More of Beqanna than ever know of us, and some people may have a craving to be heroic and snitch on us. Questions, comments, concerns?”
She is in no way trying to be superior here; sharpness is her way. Displease her and she is sharp, please her and she is not. She turns to Dragon and nods. He is the earner of her utmost respect, and this black Piranha shows her respect when it is earned.
