I would like to thank all the wrestling people in Danbury for allowing my son to wrestle at PAL for the past three seasons.
Andrew was not recruited by Danbury. Originally, he had scheduling conflicts between soccer training and the Bethel wrestling practices. I contacted coach Hayes and he advised me if there was room, Drew could train at RPMS.
At no time during our three years there was our goal to hurt the Danbury HS program. Drew just needed a place to train. He got the best training in the state under coach Hayes and coach Jennings.
I hope the opportunity shared by Drew and teammates from other towns will not be the last. In my opinion, the boys challenged the Danbury wrestlers also.
To my knowledge, not a single out of town kid was recruited to help "win a few duels."
Whenever people find out that Drew trained in Danbury, they would ask me, "how do they do it, or, what is their secret?" I tell them, it's a few people working hard as hell.
I want to especially thank Brain Hayes, Jeff Jennings, the Cammisas, Ron Howe and Christine Smith for all their assistance over the years.
Sincerely,
