Calls The Lake of Serenity her home
Loves 1234
Calls none her children
Anica jumped as the winged stallion came to her side. She hadn’t heard him approach. She forced over tense muscles and leaping nerves to settle before turning to him and smiling.
“I’m ok.” As long as I’m awake, she thought privately, and then continued, “I just had a bad dream.”
She sighed and turned her face away to look out over the lake, it was late afternoon and across the water a flock of white birds had risen with their strange cries, startled perhaps, but something foreign in their midst.
They settled back, slowly, lead by the bravest, and followed by the meek.
The sun was low in the sky now, and had cast lights out to warn all of its setting. The pastels made Anica glow white where she stood on the lake banks, but she didn’t notice. Instead she turned her face to 1234 and smiled again, although it was more of a twitch at the corner of her mouth than a true smile.
“It is very quiet here isn’t it,” her large, dark eyes swept once more over the water, “Except for the birds we seem like the only souls in existence.”
Don’t push me.
Don’t touch me.
I’m not part of your collection.
I’m just forgetting you.
Would you know me?
If you met my eyes
Would you remember?
If came to you and cried.
I could be your reflection.
And still you wouldn’t see.
I have no compassion left for you,
If you can’t remember me.
I’m that shadow,
In the corner of your eye.
By the time you look.
I’ve already said goodbye.
