First, I lived in the house where a taxidriver took me and was staying, for almost a month, in East Delhi (West Vinod Nagar). Next I went where I am now, on top of a building, in a single room in North Delhi (Gandhi Vihar). I've tried to live close to Connaught Place, but the rent rate made it impossible. I've stood in front of AIR, Supreme Court, Rajiv Chowk, and near Jantar Mantar, holding a huge poster (I have four). In front of AIR and at Rajiv Chowk I tried selling my book, but it was very, very obvious that I was doomed to fail. In front of Supreme Court, while holding a poster, the police asked me to leave - after inquiring about my whole life history. Biggest difficulty - local people are averse to speaking English, even the police will not speak a word of English.
Met Kerala MP, who was of no immediate help - details posted separately. Biggest success - article excerpted from my book published in newspaper founded by Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru - details posted separately.
Now, leaving copies of my book on car windshields all around Connaught Place. 125 copies given away for free, 200 more to go. Leaving for Bangalore on January 30. Replies: There have been no replies.
