The Valley
Between the Meadow and the Field is the third of Beqanna’s Common Grounds. A rolling valley is bisected by a broad and shallow river. The grass is thick and lush, and this is a good place for a stallion to live with his family if he does not yet have a herd land.

“I merely said that we should have a peacekeeper instead of three separate leaders. One leader would be unintelligent, I realize that, but three isn’t very smart either. An uneven number leads to fighting, and those that loose the competition may be less inclined to be kind.”
He says, looking at Click blankly. She was as valuable to the discussion as any of them, he realized that, for she had the outlook of a mare, but he felt that he still had the right to argue with her a bit. He knew he had almost no impact on the conversation, but at least his words were heard, and could be re-said if someone agreed with them.
“Irae, if you can’t waste time with squabbles you may as well leave, because there will always be squabbles between leaders, between herds, and between alliances. As for two kingdom boys, there are three, I am also one. I could bring up herd favoring, but I’m pretty sure my kingdom wouldn’t be too happy to oblige. I’ll still try though. For ideas, I just say we should know each other, have alliances with the stronger herds, and make sure we don’t turn against each other as the kingdoms already have.”
He looks around one more time, muscles rippling as the moon shines lightly on his black coat, stars shining softly up above their heads.
