I've been contacted by a journalist, Tim wright, who is covering Art Nalls' project to fly SHAR XZ439 at displays in the U.S.A. and maybe over here.
Tim has been asked( by the Smithsonian, no less !) to cover the story of 'Soapy' Watson's landing on the freighter Alraigo.
Real details seem sketchy, as it seems there was a certain amount of cock-up involved; from what I can gather, the pilot was given the wrong lat / long to enter into the Navhars, one radio was faulty before takeoff, and I suspect radio silence meant he was without help when it was needed...
Any info gratefully received, either to me at andylaw119@hotmail.com
or Tim at thewright1@aol.com
Thanks, Andy
