I'm up for the scenic route going up, fastest way back. I'd just as soon get food and a beer at the track, but whatever is fine.
I got a response from a friend of Bill Gately's, Yes, Bill intends to be there. I've copied the message below:
"Bill is on his way to Joliet (It was rained out two weeks ago and rescheduled).
The Triumphs have been racing for three years now and the AMA still doesn't include them in the list of mfg'ers on the registration or tech inspection forms.
The BP (Bonneville Performance) team will be at Saluda and I'll be in the pits helping so stop on by and say hello.
Dan Gedeon is racing his Triumph and doing very well. He beat Chris Carr twice last week at Lima, once in the heat race again in the 'Dash for Cash' race. He also made the Main and beat at least four other bikes."
See my other message about the events. I'd definitely like to get there in time to visit the pits.
