Several small cabins line a well-used dirt path, smoke rising from the occasional chimney. Despite being sheltered from the worst of the mountain's storms by the deep shadowed woods that surround the quaint buildings, they are nonetheless old and weathered, giving them a lived-in feel. Peering through the windows may yield the fleeting view of a man relaxing before a fire, or a woman writing a letter upon an antique oak desk. The scent of human pervades every aspect of this area, as these cottages are the places they call home. Though some of the people may tolerate animals roaming past the windows and doors, any animal that manages to find a way to enter one of the homes had best consider the consequences. The humans will protect their families as fiercely as a mother wolf guards her cubs, and an invading intruder may found himself or herself shot and killed, or captured and relocated to the zoo.

So her plan had backfired on a fairly major scale, causing her to frown slightly at his accusing finger. He might have been erring on the side of humor, but she was not. His observation skills seemed to have been glossed over by him mental idea of who she was. Her brows raised slightly as she looked up at him. "Kakashi, have you ever seen me in a house? The closest I've ever come to a house is this. The closest you've seen me to civilization apart from now is the park. Yes, I'm from a country where civilization exists, and I've seen it. That doesn't mean I've ever lived in it. Living in the countryside of Northern Ireland is neither the wild out there, or this human encampment here. The closest thing to my old home was the park." Her voice carried a slight edge. In all honesty, she needed to be changed, because she didn't know how to live here nor there. And she would honestly rather be changed to be able to live where he longed to live.
"I'm no pansy. If I weren't so alone out there, I would be living there now instead of the park. But everything there is unfamiliar. But don't think for a second I'm some city girl who doesn't know how to fish or build a shelter." She crossed her arms in slight indignation at his turned back, as he had chosen to face away from her.
"And yes, I see the mask on you when you don't know I'm there. That makes me happy, because that means that your face is only for me. That, and I won't deny that the mask is kinda sexy." She gave a mild shrug and chortle at that last statement. And at his statement about not easily being changed, she had to refrain from slapping him again. "Didn't I say that I don't want you to change?" even though his back was turned to her, she still raised a brow and stared at the back of his head. She knew he would feel it.
