Quests

As soon as one does enter, a magical feeling does envelop them. The wind rustles gently, bringing the quiet whicker of a rare unicorn. Would she appear to you, bringing the mighty mythic fairy, or will you be forced to bask in the shadows?

Quests will be announced by a faerie on the board (and sometimes, but not always, on the OOC board). Please do not ask for a quest.

The faerie responsible for your quest will tell you whether or not any traits/defects you earn will be 'genetic' (allowed to be included in breeding posts).

[meaning - i did not want all six of you to choose the iron gate, understand? there should be two at each gate but no more than two at each gate or someone gets disqualified.]

The beast is unconcerned with sob-stories about a mother’s neglect and the resulting son’s legs that grew as gnarled as any limb on a tree, for tree-limbs do not grow straight as an arrow’s shaft. The pain and constant aching are as nothing to his mind though he feels them distantly, not as aches and pain but as useful knowledge - as his advantage against this stallion though merits of bodily strength and health are not solely relied upon in these endeavors. His one-eyed gaze meets the blood-eyes of the stallion, unfazed by the lack of a tremor for there are other responses - twitches of tails and ears, faint wrinkling of flesh against imaginary flies or shivers that alight upon the spine. Even better are the responses of the mind, and knew this one spent too much time analyzing the world around him to compensate for the painfully twisted legs.

Nonetheless, there is room for one more at the ivory gate and the gate hails him in its timorous way, “Who goes there? What do you want?” though this last question is not meant to be answered for the gate grants little else but passage and the stallion ought to know that already. The ivory gate shivers, cold and delicate as the storm rages around them. “Oh tell me please, who goes there!” for the ivory gate is a sham of itself, weak and disoriented and quailing before its task though it completes the task and ask the questions that must be asked.

But soon the beast possesses the ivory gate and speaks through it once more; “Answer this stallion and answer me correctly:

A hundred-year-old man and his head one night old.”

The gate whimpers and silence falls but only for a moment before the gate begins sonorously to ask him this, “What will you give me in order to let you pass should you answer correctly?” for the gate must collect on something other than words in order to open and let him by.

--respond in character
--you must offer something of your self to the gate (it is temporary unless you wish it to be otherwise, if so - please state that)
--again, two days to respond - preferrably one
