In an effort to keep members up to date your board is reporting to you that as of Oct. 9, 2007 our attorney has not heard from Mr. Cohen or the Pension board as to our offer to settle in the amount of $60,000. The initial offer was presented by Mr. Carrington in a correspondence to Mr. Cohen on August 29, 2007. A secondary correspondence was sent to Mr. Cohen on September 27, 2007 as to responsible party(ies). To date Mr.Cohen nor the pension board has responded with a counter offer nor any indication of a desire to settle this ongoing situation. We wish we had a clear vision as to the outcome of this Motion, but we do not. It appears that the pension board is out for it's pound of flesh and is exhibiting a very vindictive attitude toward our association and the retirees. If this assumption is incorrect then let it be demonstrated by a counter offer from the pension board and Mr Cohen. Any negotiation is always a series of offers and counter offer without a counter offer from Mr.Cohen and the pension board we do not have any idea of our direction. The hearing date is October 30, 2007. Hope to see all of you at our next meeting on October 25, 2007 at Larrick Hall.
