There were pieces from last years marching show, some from winter drumline, the year before. The show was 7 but other than just the 7 deadly sins it was also a celebration of the band directors 7th year with the band. That's why there were things that felt recycled. That's what happens with BOA (so I'm told). At Atlanta last year the band that won (Tarpon Springs), had no marching battery, pit was on a stand with synthsyzers, etc and a track around the whole band that had a person running. It was a VERY GOOD show. But I have seen the judges have NO CLUE with the visuals at other competitions as well. Unfortunately, judging is all based on that persons perception and opinion. I saw some bands that I thought were musically OUTSTANDING, then see the judges think differently. Makes the head hurt. Replies:
