BT in Chicago an XRT show?

I went to the Double Door site to get details of ticket sales for the Feb show in Chicago and was surprised to see XRT was promoting it. I recall them getting airplay between LMCO and Big Red Letter Day as well as sporadic play of 'summer' however they never touched Smitten and I have yet to hear a thing from the new release.

Not to get into too much detail, but this once great station that exposed Chicago to Pavement, the Afghan Whigs, and American Music Club now brings us a steady stream of Sugar Ray, Goo Goo Dolls, "Two Princes", and Elvis Costello's greatest hits. It's the best station the city can offer, but come on.

My guess is BT will get a mention or two when Brehmer announces upcoming gigs, but if they play anything, it'll be "Sodajerk." I'm curious if anyone knows what the band gets out of WXRT lending it's name other than whatever the station decides to promote.

Now if they turn around and do an in-studio, I'll eat my words.

Thanks much to the boys for hitting our city and sparing me airfare and hotel to travel. We are grateful for the stop.
