Sir or Madame,

Your latest letter to retirees seemed to finally touch on the human aspect of this particular fiasco which has been done to all of us by those we have trusted for so many years, namely the group we call the Pension Board.

I too, feel that they have lost sight of the true reason for which we all worked so hard, for so many years to accomplish. A pension that would be financially sound, and receptive to possible future changes that would benefit all of it's members, and not hinder the benefits which they are entitled.

I applaud your efforts to inform us of your opinions concerning this and many other Pension issues, however I do not applaud the way you have been doing it.

Your past efforts have seemed a bit heavy handed and less than gentlemanly (or lady like, whichever the case may be), by maintaining your anonymity in the face of accusations that you have made towards so many people...even if they are factual, or just your opinion.

If in fact what you write is the truth, why hide behind a curtain?

Why are you so afraid to stand up and be seen?
What do you have to be afraid of?

If you are truly just one of us retirees, you should be able to withstand any retributions that the unions, the Pension Board, or any other retirees could throw your way.

Unless, of course, you are currently drawing a paycheck from one of those whom you are attacking,...what do you have to fear?

Your "guerrilla" tactics remind me of a wave of similar sophomoric letters that used to show up at Fire Stations during the '70's & '80's. They were mostly amusing, and they did little if anything to help correct the issues that they addressed. Therefore, they were less than helpful.

If you really want other retirees to share their "stories" with you; and you say that you "will hold your information in the strictest confidence if you so desire", you must be willing to share your identity and your story with us.

I know personally that there are many truly sad and depressing personal events that our brothers and sisters have suffered because of financial constraints caused by the loss of the 2004 13th check, but many of them will never be told to you because of your steadfast desire to maintain your anonymity.

Just my opinion, but I would be interested in hearing your side of this issue, so please share it with me and/or the other retirees.

Please notice that I am sending this to you with ALL of my contact information, I am not ashamed nor am I afraid of what repercussions may come because of what I have written to you.

Wishing you and your family the best of this New Year.

Respectfully,
W.C.Yancey
