IF you want to get the hook from a snappin turtle the easy way to do it is keep its head controlled with the line hes caught on and then grab him by the the tail, as long as he is not over 70 pounds you can problem handle him, then take pliers and carefully get the hook if you can, but remember they can extend there neck further then you think. Be ware of the claws on the back, they will cut you, this all sounds crazy but its really simple once you do it once.
