Magnificent Flower Display Posted on May 24, 2008 at 12:36:52 PM by Margo Holt
The magnificent Carden flower show is now in progress. A drive along Wylie Rd. on Fri May 23 produced fields full of Early Saxifrage, Field Chickweed, Prairie Smoke, Indian Paintbrush, Long-leaved Bluets etc. For Carex (Sedge) fans, Crawe's Sedge is abundantly in flower, while Richardson's Sedge is mostly now in fruit.
With all these flowers, the butterflies were also conspicuously present: Columbine Duskywing, Roadside Skipper, Silvery Blue, Black Swallowtail, Clouded Sulphur, Olympia Marble, Canadian Tiger Swallowtail, Mustard White. Replies: There have been no replies.
