I can't help you without more information.
Please explain as best you can what in this sentence makes it hard for you work out what it means.
The vocabulary does not seem that difficult. Is there a particular phrase or string of words that confuses you?
What are some synonyms for "are" and "to be" that you could substitute? Sometimes rephrasing helps.
For example, you could rephrase
'Some things in this world are not and yet appear to be' as 'some things do not exist but it looks like they do.'
It also helps to have more context, that is, more sentences from the same passage.
Interpreting symbolic meaning requires a higher level of reading and interpretation skills that straight forward writing. if this passage is too difficult, review basic reading skills and look for easier reading material more suitable for your level.
Interpreting religious texts are a different matter. Take those questions to your spiritual adviser.
