During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

Equinox had curled his tail tightly around his body as Silence padded angrily away and felt his ears flatten against his skull slightly as he felt the irritation ebbing off the male's form, getting fader and fader as the wolf went farther and farther until it disappeared entirely. He felt reassured by the femmora's words and flashed her a tentative smile. When he tried to speak and insist that he walk he was interrupted by a violent fit of coughing and as he struggled to his paws again he heard her speak. She was closer now, he could feel her breathe on his cheek. He wanted to walk, to show her that he wasn't that weak but in the back of his mind he knew that it was futile and that he was too weak to go much of anywhere. The run here had drained most of the strength from his limbs and he could do nothing but wait as he felt the fae's jaws grasp his scruff gently but firmly. Immediately, he felt his body go limp. He was still fairly small so being carried did not hurt him and he didn't complain as she carried him. The sound of moving water soon came to his ears and they pricked slightly.

As the female set him on the ground he could tell he was a short distance away and that the water was fairly slow in it's running here. He felt her tongue run across his forehead and he was a bit surprised by the affection but said nothing. He nodded thankfully at her and padded slowly forward in the direction of the river, using his ears to move in the right direction. Sure enough, he soon felt the ground slope ever so slightly downward and the feel of water lapping against his toes told him he had reached the river. Bending his neck he dipped his head and lapped gratefully at the cool, fresh water. He drank solidly for a few minutes before turning and climbing back up to where the she-wolf stood, he could feel her body heat radiating and it was too easy to tell where she was. He sat down in front of her, tail tucked around his paws and chin still dripping.

Soon enough, she spoke again, her voice was soft and reassuring.

I am called Hope

He cocked his head to one side slightly. Hope... That was a pretty name, Equinox quite liked it himself.

I'm Equinox.

He tried to lower his voice a little so it wasn't so squeaky but his puppish voice wouldn't allow him to lower it much and still the squeaks came out. He kneaded the ground with his paws, slightly frustrated, he wished he could see this wolfess's face. Oh well.

Hope...

It still felt strange calling a wolf by their name other than Blanco of course.

Where am I?

He blushed a little, hoping the question didn't sound dumb to her.
