The pair of Freedom Seekers were trekking across the beach. Both father and daughter were silent. They both came for the peaceful serenity that was the Dragon Beach. It was a quiet evening, and it seemed there were no others around. Both were quite large, leaving imprints in the sand as the moved along, but River's disappeared with water. The salty sea washed across the sand and with it went any sign of his presence.
River of Styx knew his time was coming. He had felt for some time, and in his time training young Tumatri, he felt it even more. He had only broken the surface with the young smokey grey, but he still had much to learn. The large male looked to Kitana, but feared to break the silence between them. The dragoness was not happy. The frown that creased her reptilian features was evidence enough of that.
It was after several moments that the female broke the silence, "Why didn't you tell me sooner?" There was a look of despair on her face now. River averted his gave from the piercing one of Kitana. Perhaps he should have told her, but he didn't know how to tell her. The male sighed and looked skyward, "Because it wasn't time... Surely you understand that."
Kitana cast her gaze to the ground. As many of their family that had already passed, she was not ready for her father to go. How could she be ready? And so, they both continued to walk in silence in the serenity that was Dragon Beach. Both tried to enjoy these last moments, but it was hard with what lie ahead.
