Short Screenplay Prize: $1,000 Plus Duke City Shootout

The management of the Duke city Shootout will choose one short script winner, who will receive a $1,000 prize and a spot in the Duke City Shootout. He/she is flown to Albuquerque and given a crew, high definition camera, equipment, post- production facilities, the option to direct, and a professional mentor to help through the process of turning his/her script into a movie.

Two $1,000 Television Script Prizes

Prizes of $1,000 each will be offered for the best hour-long and best half-hour television scripts. Writers will also be given creative and career counseling and access to television agents and managers.

Additional Special Prizes:

Two $8,500 Writers Boot Camp Memberships

Two writers will receive $8,500 Writers Boot Camp Professional Memberships in Los Angeles or New York city. The first step of professional Membership is Think Tank, a 22-month career development program, during which writers develop three features as well as the skills and discipline to achieve at a professional level over the course of a career.

Coverage, Ink. Script Coverage

Coverage Ink will offer a CI Pro analysis and script mark up, editing and comprehensive work-through of your script from one of its most senior story analysts ($295 value).

Kersey Management Prize

Manager Andrew Kersey will pick a finalist script to develop and send to executives and producers. ($1,000 value). NOTE: see the upcoming report in CS Weekly on the prior winner of this Kersey Management prize whose movie is currently being shot.

In addition to third-party services, the Creative Screenwriting-sponsored competition provides winners with multiple routes of access to producers and agents.
