( somewhere just beyond my reach there's someone reaching back for me )

Even though she had generally always been an independent child (although she was hardly a child anymore), she had found herself growing increasingly lonely over the past few months. It had been years since she last saw her father and brother; her sisters weren’t nearly as social as her, with Neorah being too shy to go out and do anything and Elletra just generally anti-social; and her mother was trying to start her life over – again – with someone else. All of this left Trella undeniably alone, and while milling about the meadow had been entertaining enough at first, it wasn’t home. But she wasn’t structured like the rest of Beqanna; she didn’t have the determination and the drive to rise through the ranks of a kingdom, and so this had really left her with no other choice.

So far, she had no reason to be untrusting. She had never been wronged in any way, and was even completely oblivious to whatever hardships her own mother may have endured. And so of course she hadn’t hesitated to accept the strange stallion’s offer of a home; a herd sounded just about perfect, since she had grown so tired of living in the meadow. And so it was now that she crossed the border of the territory, the waning summer sun falling in yellow streaks along the golden and white splashes that lay scattered along the curves of her body, framed by the black veil of mane that hung in loose threads along the arch of her neck. The place was beautiful, just as its name implied – lush fields of grass, with the shimmering pool of water that lay nestled near the center with the several trees that shaded it. The buckskin tobiano comes to rest beneath one of these trees, her sky-blue eyes peering through the black of her forelock, taking in the scenery as she waited for him to arrive.
