The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

what happens when the hunter becomes the hunted
IP: 67.177.179.18

Large, sandy colored paws padded silently on the terra’s soft dirt floor. Though it was night, being a feline, her brown eyes peered clearly through the black world. She stopped once to sniff at an old carcass, and then continued down her path, licking her chops. Her path was not one that the wolves in the land often traveled … not one that was perfectly carved out. One better for hiding, and prowling. The many plants, and howling wind around helped her scent to blend with the land. Three little babies laid in a den just outside Blossom Forest, and the mother was looking for some large prey to bring home. And since all the wolves were killing off the large hoofed animals in rather vast numbers recently, she decided to make the hunter into the hunted.

Her pointed ears detected movement a few paths over, and she leapt up gracefully, extending her sharp nails to make a grab onto a nearby tree. Just as soon as she made a successful landing on the side of the tree, the lynx let it go and made a swift climb up into the higher branches to hide. Though it did not stop her, as she simply continued by traveling tree to tree. About ten minutes later or so, a wolf did run under her, though since she was so much higher up, as well as the wind confusing scents everywhere tonight, the dark lupine did not notice the large wild cat at all.

But she did notice the wolf, and began following, except up at tree level. That was, until the canine traveled across a clearing. There was no way to leap onto another tree across the way, and going around would take so long that she would lose the wolf’s trail … so, she climbed half way back down before leaping off and making a clean landing on all four feet. She then went off her path just slightly, to hide away in the thick shrubbery once more before continuing to follow behind the wolf. Her pace was quite slower, not only for extra cover, but because she did not want to wear her energy out just on the chase. The wolf she saw had been sprinting, and so luckily, would eventually tire itself out.

When the hunter finally found the wolf, she saw she was right. She remained crouched low, and was slowly circling the small clearing, if you could even call it that. She licked her chops once more while watching. There were two, it appeared, one the wolf she had seen sprinting earlier, and the other just a cub. It was interesting, as she thought she may have seen the same young one earlier, but thought it too small to do her any good. Now it may just serve as a side dish, after all. Her tail flicked, and when the moment seemed quiet, she became completely still … then pounced.

A wicked snarl was ejected into the night, the kind that frighten all beasts to the heart … the kind that only a cat can produce. Her powerful front legs stretched out, and the razor sharp claws she always used in hunting extended toward the larger of the two.
