The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

THE OTHER WOLF seemed shocked just by the appearance of another life. Well, now, was it not a pack land? You would be bound to run into someone else at some point or another. Perhaps as a newcomer she had not known what to expect, though honestly Queda had thought that it was obvious that in a pack land there were other wolves. Perhaps she was simply too much of a pack wolf herself? Ah well, it did not matter too greatly, and she mentally shrugged off the fact. The larger silver wolf recovered quickly enough, and answered the pack member’s words in just as casual as a way. Her voice was in a rather low volume … not quite whispering, but still quiet.

Thank you, and ah, that is not such a bad thing. Almost like you may test out pack life before deciding for or against, heh.

QUEDA MADE SMALL talk of what the other wolf’s answer had been. Her tail flicked slightly, and absent minded action like someone fidgeting their fingers or chewing their nails. Her solid grey eyes looked from the femme for a moment to see a pile of snow dropping into a heap that soon blended into the ground. Seemed yet another branch grew tired of holding the cold load. She sighed contently before looking back towards the larger lupine.

So, might I ask for your name?

SHE THEN COCKED her head ever so slightly to the side … canine language to express curiosity. She gave her slender frame a shake, to rid her silver pelt of the snow that had begun to pile on. As the female was probably answering her, Queda sat down on her haunches. Her posture was very nice, as she sat perfectly straight, only hunching slightly when the cold, stinging wind picked up. Her tail wrapped tight against her flanks, and the end of it came to lie gracefully over her paws. The steady snow fall lightened … and she hoped it might stop long enough for a successful hunt to take place soon. It was always easiest to track and hunt during winter, since prey left tracks in the snow, but prey hardly ever came out while it was actually snowing.

HER THOUGHTS DRIFTED to Kodiak for a few seconds, wondering what he was up to. Hopefully he was still within the land somewhere … she was hoping to perhaps find him sometime later. Some alone time would do the both of them some good. When a breeze held for a few minutes, not to wild, it eventually carried along the scent of another. It tickled Queda’s nose, and by it being so foreign, her instincts told her ‘newcomer’. She rose back up onto her paws, gave herself another shake, and then looked to Silverpaw again.

Come along if you wish, I’m off to answer a wolf at the border.

AND WITH THAT, she leapt away, bounding towards the source of the scent. One would not think she could run so fast, but in reality, Queda used every inch of herself to make her strides long and quick. It did not take too long, a few minutes perhaps, to find the waiting femme in her sights. The wolf was taller than she was, though not bulky like Silverpaw. The silver femme slowed her pace and steadied to a halt in front of the grey and brown lupine. The wolf had been waiting five or so minutes at least, judging by the amount of snow that had layered on her head and snout and such. Queda’s face was now blank of emotions … completely business like. Well, that is, as much as a wolf could be considered “business” like.

Welcome to the borders of Andere Seite. I am Queda.

HER VOICE WAS STRAIGHT, with an almost sharp quality in it. Nothing personal, though, simply procedure. Her body posture read ‘omega’ though it was still more than the newcomer, rank wise. A pack member was a pack member, from beta to omega, and all should be respected all the same. No wolf could make it through pack life thinking differently.

Both alphas are … busy, though if you’re willing to wait they’ll be around.

THERE WAS THE slightest pause as she explained about the alphas. Honestly she had no idea what was going on lately with Eclipse and Nephthys. Rumors had spread that Eclipse left, though she refused to believe such gossip until it came from an official that would actually know something. Still, that did not explain Nephthys or even the high beta disappearing. For some reason she thought one might be off at a challenge, though again, it was not a for sure.
