G.UERILLA b.ring them down
the large beast looked toward seduction as she first greeted him, amused with their excessively polite exchange - surely such mannerisms were an inside joke between the two, since it was known that neither of them was a fan of formalities and the intricacies of social interaction. they both aimed for higher goals, anxious to get through the intial small talk of any situation, and to move on to the true motivations which drove each of them. the difference was that seduction was, admittedly, a little more skilled in the art. nevertheless, this was an initial interaction with which g.uerilla was not displeased. rather, he was glad to hear of the mare's successes - though the idea of a mare in charge of a significant herd was still odd to him, he was sure that, if any girl could do it, seduction was headstrong enough to fight for the task, and to succeed in it - particularly because her time spent within the forest had been so unpredictably brief. regardless, it was good to know she was in a comfortable position from which to raise their son. again, however, the thought of one of his first sons being raised in a herd full of mares was a bit odd.
surely the boy would have to visit a bit more often.
g.uerilla nodded to the mare, his expression still stoic as it had always been, revealing nothing of the amusing thought process he had just internally followed.
"i have heard, indeed, and extend to you my congratulations. no doubt you are quite capable of - and comfortable with - the task."
he then turned to the boy, e.ros, who was clearly being quite capably raised. his mannerisms were respectful, but proud. this was an agreeable first impression, and so g.uerilla was already quite pleased.
sir? now that is a word that has never escaped the lips of our dear g.uerilla, and one which he had rarely encountered even from others in his lifetime. it was, needless to say, refreshing. he could not help but allow a brief smirk to cross his gaze as he listened to the colt speak.
when the mare beside them made her own comment regarding e.ros's feelings, the smile grew a little but then, out of respect for the boy, faded. no need to embarass his own son just yet by rudely acknowledging this clearly unplanned comment from an excited mother.
"we are glad to hear of your appreciation for us, e.ros. i assure you that i have been awaiting your arrival as well, and m.aelstrom anxiously welcomes the friendship of a peer and, more importantly, a brother."
he nodded with sincerity at his eldest son then, and then paused to take note of his undeniable physical resemblance to his sire. indeed, his coat was a few shades darker - particularly on his legs, haunches, and shoulders - but he was quite similar in build and nature to g.uerilla himself. the same yellow-tinged mane and tail sprang from them both, and much the same dark eyes. m.aelstrom, the smaller of the brothers, looked less similar to the older brother and their shared sire. his coat was clearly darker, carrying a foggy silver grullo color to it. additionally, though both boys shared the brutish muscular structure of their draft lines, m.aelstrom promised more potential for height in his body - a promise that meant his overall structure would more closely resemble their sire, even if his hue and more specific qualities did not. undeniably, however, e.ros did add a bit more flare to the family body type than did either the father or younger brother, for the arabian lines he had gained from his dam were apparent in his more detailed characteristics.
the three, in their mix of similarities, resembled one another quite closely, indeed - they shared many of the same structural characteristics. it was indeed so, though, that m.aelstrom was more the personal reflection of their sire. it was difficult to attribute this solely to the fact that this was a result of being raised beside his father, simply due to the young age at which he carried the qualities. such immediate closeness, however, certainly influenced that fact in some degree.
the smaller colt, who was dwarfed in physicality next to his sire, but certainly not in moxy, looked more closely at e.ros as he spoke toward him. listening attentively, the boy briefly pondered what opportunities such interaction would provide. he would, indeed, need the socialization and the connection-building if he was meant to be the king of this forest someday, and some familiarity with his peers would be quite agreeable as well.
God forbid the child would consider the degree of fun that would be provided by the experience. in fact, he seemed to be wholly unfamiliar with this concept altogether. that, however, would take some time for his family to discover...as would other aspects to his inherent persona.
he, of course, was unaware of these impending promises, and nodded quite professionally to his brother's proposal.
"thank you for the thought. i shall have to join you there sometime soon, indeed."
he knew that all those words had been risky, but he was willing to put the effort out - and so his courage was rewarded. his speech was nearly flawless, and although its formality sounded almost humorous while carried by his youthful voice, it was unyieldingly impressive.
again following the example of his respectable sire, m.aelstrom gave a small smirk to his brother. still, his eyes seemed oddly empty and detached from the more pleasant expression. so much so, in fact, that g.uerilla took a brief moment to ponder the questionable nature of those eyes - the familiarity of them.
he did not ponder this for long, however, for they were in the midst of family, and therefore obligated to pay those acquaintances their due attention.
thus, hefty father and little son stood side-by-side, matched in their waits for further conversation. it was, again, almost humorous how the colt mimicked his sire so closely...it was, however, also almost frightening how closely he accomplished that impersonation.
[ooc: eep! i'm so excited for little m.aelstrom. he's gonna be a meanie to everyone, just like his grandpapa...except family, of course. he gets that much from his daddy, at least! anyway, though, are e.ros and m.aelstrom gonna be on good terms, or rivals...? 'cause either way would work well for my personality-related plot for this little heir!]
