The moon reflects softly on the water's surface and the ripples that flow show the presence of life. Tall reeds bend majestically, making the picture seem good and serene. Don't let it fool you.

Cadence Of Her Last Breath
IP: 86.154.127.246

What was chaining her to this place? She had lived here for over a year, most of those months she had wasted wallowing in her own state of self loathing. It was depressing that she hated this place, and the horses who resided here, with a passion. Yet she could not bring herself to escape. Cadence had spent so long swimming in the lagoon that she was amazed she had not transformed into some sort of mythical kelpie like creature. She only ever left the water to graze and even then she avoided leaving the waters edge for extended periods of time. She had learnt quickly that if she wanted to be left in solitude then the center of Twilight Lagoon itself was a perfect sanctuary. Not many would dare to swim out that far, then again no one had the desire to speak to her, and she was all but forgotten in this purgatory place. Being blessed by Courant meant she could live this way and not suffer the consequences. She never thought she would hear herself think this, but she was actually starting to miss Poltergeist Woods.

Then again if Cadence was going to run away from the Lagoon where would she go? The water was a very comforting feature of this territory and there weren’t many others that she had heard rumor of which posses such large bodies of her element. The only place she could think of was the Silver Lakes, the kingdom in the North. On the other hand she could just go back to the Arbors and give love a second shot. A shallow sigh escapes her lips; she wished she had not followed her first suitor, Lupus, home. She wonders if she had stayed in the Arbors longer she might have attracted the attention of another suitor. Questions like this where pointless, no one knows what could have been, but she can change what will be.

With a brief nod of the head the golden girl makes her decision. Her long limbs are sent in motion as she paddles her way to the shore. Her legs protests at carrying her weight upon the ground, she had forgotten how much she weighed on the earth compared to floating in the lagoon. The vibrant autumn leaves splash the earth’s surface with brilliant shades of gold, red and orange. However the leaves are slippery, specially when wet. Her dainty hooves give way she stumbles to the ground, spraying her beautiful golden coat with mud. A snort of irritation escapes her nostrils; she has injured her pride more then anything. Picking herself up she begins to weave her tarnished form threw the trees towards Twilight Lagoon’s borders. Like a new born foal it takes her a few strides to rekindle her grace.

Initially she had not noticed the blood stained brute lurking in the background, just as he had not spotted her. Cadence could easily make her escape and there would be nobody around to stop her. So close, just a few steps away from the border, she could taste the sweet scent of freedom. Suddenly the taste is ruined by the familiar sensation of depression, a feeling Cadence knows where. It was her curiosity rather then sense of sympathy which drove her to discover the source of this negative atmosphere. Deep sapphire pools, like the Lagoon itself, scan the horizon line where they fall upon the familiar form of Lupus.

Cadence stands her ground, she is not afraid of Lupus by any means, but her pride was holding her back. She had vowed not to speak another word to this hellion and she was going to stick by it. Right now her pride was the only thing she had got left. In silence she stands there motionless as she examines the chestnut brute. The heavens open and her ears are filled with the harmonic symphony of rain. The droplets on her back sooth her mind and the wind whispers to her heart, slowly she raises her leg and leisurely walks towards Lupus. She is not sure what her own intentions are, perhaps she still cared about him or maybe she wanted to find out the reason for his sorrow and emphasize it.

The water droplets sparkle of her luxurious golden coat. Despite the fact her legs and underbelly where tarnished in unsightly mud, she must have looked an impressive sight. Lowering her head she stares into Lupus dead like eyes, barely a few inches away from his head. An impish smirk spreads across her lips before she speaks, “Why so blue?” She was trying to be cheerful yet there was something unsettling about her chosen tone of voice.
