The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

Before Plague moved from Nephthys gaze, he couldn’t help but just stare into her orbs. He did not move a muscle, though one could assume he was afraid, he wasn’t. Unlike a lot of wolves he killed, he didn’t have to fear to respect. Honestly, that knowledge was wasted anyway, he had always respected every single member of Kimani’s family, the fact that Nephthys thought that he would hurt either his own pack or his angel of devilish light annoyed him somewhat, but he always understood that fact. He didn’t mind the fact that Nephthys was in his face, breathing down his neck, he made no attempt to cower, or to guard any part of himself. Firstly, she had no reason to attack and if she was going to, she would of done it long ago. He simply stared back at her angered gaze with a calm serenity that had taken him ages to master. But he did and he was. Her words were spoken with just as much passion as he was already feeling and no doubt drove her to say such things. Along with the suspicion that came naturally to family. He also had the feeling, no doubt, that she did not trust him, fully. Plague resisted a twitch of a smile at his lips and done something that went against every alpha rule in the book. Though Plague knew from he could remember, rules were made to broken.

…Nephthys, the pleasure is entirely mine.

He didn’t care her greeting had been spoken in such a sarcastic, uncaring way, in fact, he was subtly glad that she wasn’t tearing his guts out right now. If it came to that, he had already planned ahead, he would simply walk away, out of the pack lands, he would not fight his new family, his past would not be a mirror to the future!
Before she could move, he back a subtle couple of steps but his intensely calm gaze never left her face. He extended his right forelimb to her, slowly, stretching it; he bowed down, eventually closing his eyes and exposing the full back of his neck to her. It wasn’t really a submission, more of a gentlemanly way of returning his pleasure. This fae in front of him was the closest family to Kimani and that meant more to him than he would ever be able to explain. She snarled louder and a slight smile infected his lips, but not one of the devilish insane kinds. His muddy pools opened and the smile was gone, but at the same time, it was still ready to break out. Before she turned away, he spoke up, his status neutral; his head level with hers, even though she was a few inches shorter than his muscled ebony frame.

I never break my promises. You’ll see to that I’m sure.

Although the words could have easily been dripping sarcasm, if they were spoken by anyone else other than him, they might have been, but not now. He spoke solemnly and carefully, his voice flat and emotionless, except one word. Never. Never was quite a strong word, in his case, he would never break the vows he spoke to Kimani, he knew they were a couple, mates and all those wonderfully delicious goodies that came along with it. He couldn’t say it without at least showing he meant it in even the smallest of ways. He got the feeling it would take time to settle fully into his new…life. Nephthys turned from him and from her body language, she was just waiting for him to attack her. He cocked his head slightly and caught Kimani’s gaze, locking his beautifully muddy stained pools onto her frequented mustards. He couldn’t quite see what she was thinking from her expression; to him it looked like curiosity. He knew better than to trust his queen to think one thought at a time. He smiled into her orbs, letting himself forget to breathe and momentarily get lost in them. He desired her to smile back, one of her smile could warm a winter’s day for him. Just picturing her in his mind kept her warm at night, along with her herself. His smile intact, he spoke silently, with his eyes. He gestured quickly to Nephthys, whose back was still momentarily turned. Three words.

…I like her.

At least she didn’t pretend to be something was wasn’t. There’s a bonus.
