TO ALL RETIREES,
The big question is, do we OPT-IN or OPT-OUT of the affected Class of the Parker Lawsuit re the 2004 13th. Check. To arrive at the best answer, your Board of Directors has retained the services of an attorney to review this case and give us the best direction available. We expect the attorneys' review by this weeks end. We will then be sending a copy to all dues paying members, recent dues paying members and all those who contributed to our lawsuit regarding the PRAA Suit. We will not be posting the attorneys review on the web site. It will only go to those mentioned above. If you want a copy of the attorneys' review you need to download our membership application and join the RF&PA. You will then be able to get a copy. Once you receive the attorneys' review you will be able to make a decision about whether to OPT-IN or OPT-OUT. The decision will be yours. I am sure that when the attorneys' review is mailed out there will be many who will post their decision and reasons why they chose their option. I for one will be glad to post my decision but I will not encourage you to follow my lead. It needs to be your decision, based on the legal review. You will have until May 15, 2009 to make your selection of OPT-IN or OPT-OUT. If you decide to OPT-IN you don't have to do anything, you are IN the Class. If you decide to OPT-OUT you must notify the pension office in writing, using the form mailed to you. Make your selection. Don't just sit on the sidelines. Make your OPTION known on this matter. Be expecting your letter from our attorney by next week, March 16th.. Until then, be safe. Your support of the RF&PA allows us to provide you with the best legal advice we can obtain.
