"I shall come find you one day, when my time is mature. I'm not sure I can last long here without you," I said to Torrin as I watched her pack her bread for the journey. She spoke of a place hidden from most but sought by those who need the solace and freedom. "Why do you not show me the way to you're haven, Torrin?"
"It is not my way to show, my lady," She calls me this when she knows I'm loosing my tolerance. "It's her way, Aura's way. She beckons those with the strengths she wants. I will do what I can to make her see you, but I cannot promise that she will accept you."
"Very well then, at least one of us is leaving these forsaken hills and valley's, I should have known it would be you before I," Even I could hear the resentment in my voice. Being the odd one in the tribe made me ever the more eager to leave, and she got to leave before me. With a last kiss one the cheek, Torrin spun around.
"Wish me farewell, Nox. Or I shan't put in a good word for you," she played with my emotions more than she ought to, but I forgive her. It's merely her excitement that made her insensitive. I would be the same way if it were me parting ways with the landscape I loathe.
"Farewell then," and I slip my favorite bracelet into her palm. Stepping back from her, I see a tear form in her stormy eyes. I allow her to say nothing, instead I turn and run away, too hurt to wish her good luck. I sprint to my favorite spot beneath the Ash trees overlooking the valley. I'll see her leave, but she'll not see me.
