The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

Isn’t it funny how in little moments of agony, everything becomes slightly clearer? Plague didn’t think so, well, not at his current agony, the brute was tough and the pain would not for one second stops anything he wants to happen, happen. But still, frustration mounted at the ripples of pain along his back, he had several large wounds, lengthy trailing down his back, they had stopped bleeding as he slept, but he awoke to a dull ache from each tender new flesh wound. It only slapped another few stakes of pain each time he moved, even when he was still, it was still like a back full of knives, but when he moved, it was like someone was pushing them side to side, digging them all a little more deeper into his flesh. He trotted solidly; it was too painful to break into a run, but much more too painful to halt. He scented the newcomer hours ago and it wasn’t until he heard a pack brute howl for him or Kimani, he got up agonizingly slowly. He heard voices, scenting Coal and Syndarblen, both wolves he had joined recently. He smiled; at least they were doing something particularly useful to the pack. He kept it in mind for later adjustments to ranks.

He knew the brute was already submitting before he saw any of them, it was another sense he had picked out of thin air. He could tell from the much more relaxed behaviour of the pack members that the wolf was completely on his back, showing he meant no harm at all. Plague slowed to a walk, all traces of pain hidden from his emotions, sure, he could feel the pain, but it didn’t bother him to the point to seek any sort of help, not yet anyway. Plague stepped into visible ground, his ebony mass pacing quickly towards them; he looked a picture of health if not for the noticeable wounds on his back. His ebony banner curled aggressively over his spine, his head held proudly and his frame rippling with muscle in every tiny movement. He observed the submitting newcomer for the space of twenty seconds; he seemed a good strong brute and could be useful if he was co-operative as well, which Plague thought he should be since he was already submitting. Still, trust had to be earned and was not easily given. He spoke up, his leathery, smoky voice gracing all present bells.

Rise and tell me your name. Welcome to Andere Seite, I am Plague, king of this land.

He turned to Syn and Coal, nodding respectfully to them.

Thank you Syn, thank you Coal, your seeming to be quite useful around here.

After the brute answered him he gave a single wave of his banner and spoke up, his voice was stern, not in any way mean, but at once expected to be obeyed.

If all of you would follow me, I am about to call a pack meeting a little further in.

He nodded to Blackpaine and trotted towards the usual meeting clearing, Plague himself had never been to a pack meeting, he was still so new; this was mostly to see who was here and to meet everyone in the pack, although he had met a significant proportion already.
