The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

He went at a gentle trot, glancing back once or twice to see if Coal and Syn were following as he asked. They had slipped out of his sight, but he knew they wouldn’t be much further behind him. He continued on, his silky pelt rippling with each movement, though he did not have long-ish hair, it was the raw sinew and muscle underneath his ebony shining coat that made it ripple like it did. He stopped at the edge of the clearing and looked about warily, it wasn’t that he distrusted anyone in the pack; it was more of a habit from not being in a pack. He had grown wary of his surroundings and even when asleep it would not take very much at all to wake him.

He did not worry about anymore attacks, he knew he could handle any manner of big cat that strolled in, he only feared for the members in his pack and he knew he could do nothing but only be vigilant and patrol more often. He perked his ears at the sight of a mound of earth -pushed up by some natural force- at the wider end of the clearing. He looked from the mound to the other end of the clearing and shook himself, he walked up to the mound and a simple little hop was all that was needed. He turned and looked down the remainder of the clearing, nodding in satisfaction. A murmur slipped from his maw as he tilted his head to the invisible stars.

Mmmm….

A howl burst through the pack lands, bold, strong and commanding. He was not an asking, it was an order that everyone assemble to him efficiently. Some would think he was using his new power as alpha to get his way, well, technically he was, just not in a nasty context which most would assume. He actually needed to see who was here and meet the whole pack and oh, of course, he also hoped Kimani would reveal herself sometimes during the meeting, he wasn’t clingy but how he wanted her, it was almost unnatural. Still, he wouldn’t pine or complain either way; he simply knew he only had to wait for his Queen to be ready to come back from wherever the hell she went. Plague thought about it, why wouldn’t she disappear? Chicks got all emotional and like when their loved one got attacked. Plague sighed and pawed at the earth, he did really wish she’d come and comfort herself n his paws. Still, she seemed to strong to come and cry her heart out to him, perhaps ever, Plague didn’t mind either way. As long as she came back better than when she left, he was happy.

He smiled and let his rump meet the ground, momentarily forgetting what pain it his little movement would produce, he forced himself to relax, and tensing his muscles along his back would only put him in a bad, pain filled mood. Hopefully no one was in a ‘why’ mood today, but he knew it came with the job. He’d gladly kill without warning, although any movement at all was causing him pain, he had learned to channel any pain he felt into anger. Mostly in fights but a side effect was that any pain he felt would weigh him down to a more ‘moody’ side. With a high probability of snapping…someone’s neck.

His muddy stained amber pools washed over the clearing, eager to see everyone arrive, although, he only looked for Kimani. As soon as she arrived, he’d gladly forget everything and everyone else as she gave him that look that drove him crazy inside, her mustards flashed before his eyes and he couldn’t help but let a muffled whine fill his maw. Luckily his maw was shut so not a soul could have heard it. Plague let his eyes close, now even more alert to the faintest sound that anything produced, living or not. He sighed contentedly and thought that if not for the open wounds screaming pain down his back , the sliver scars that matched those exact wounds still provided a dull ache which in turn he had come to love, yes, other than that, Plague felt absolutely wonderful as he waited for the arrival of his pack members.

AS Syn spoke to him, he did not look at her, but sniffed at all the approaching scents, a slight emotion called dismay flushed across his face momentarily. When he first accepted Syn he had a little trouble understanding her, but he only knew that he had to re-arrange her words to formulate an acceptable response to show he understood. He had not noticed at first and threw it off as a quirk, all wolves have their quirks, and some just don’t notice they do. Plague had plenty, just none that affected his speech or major parts of his behaviour. He knew that Syn was a particularly social creature, most wolves with her problem would shy from gathering, knowing they would be made fun of or something. But she didn’t, she craved social attention, like any normal wolf, it didn’t take a turkey to see she was as intelligent; perhaps even more than Plague himself. Although he always thought of Kimani as the smarter one between them, though she was just as strong as him on many levels, of course she was! She was as close to perfect as could be. The fae had nothing to worry about, Plague wasn’t perfect, but he was the authority, if anyone picked a fight within the pack, they picked a fight with him too. He lowered his bodice and whispered to Syn as more arrived, making sure the words were for her ears only.

Nice to see you again Syn. Do not be afraid to talk here, you will not be an outcast for being an intelligent creature, in fact, I would love to chat sometime… when I get the time, of course…and I’m pretty good today, thanks for asking.

He closed his eyes in a silent chuckle, when he opened them, Coal and the newcomer literally just joined yesterday, Corvus, were arriving, but both behaved differently in just entering the clearing. Coal was obviously either not into pack meetings or just highly suspicious of his surroundings, which, in a way, was offensive to Plague as an alpha. If he didn’t feel safe in this clearing with his alpha right there, how did he feel about Plague protecting the whole pack? Plague frowned slightly, but not at anyone and shook himself lightly. He coughed tactfully and decided t o talk to the brute privately. Corvus approached him in a low position, bowing deeply out of respect. Plague smiled and bowed just as deep as Corvus had back at him. He wasn’t trying to make a point, but the simple act did show one thing, Plague was for equality. He was also big on respect. He showed exactly the same respect wolves showed him, less or more, it didn’t matter. To him, it was fair. To him, it was right. It wasn’t the way he was raised; it was a choice he had made on his own terms. He raised a subtle brow at Corvus’s words.

Greetings, Plague. I hope everything is okay, and that nothing horrible has happened to make you call a pack meeting.

He held back a friendly chuckle and shook his head slightly with his first several words.

No Corvus, everything is fine. I simply would like to take stock of who’s here and would like to …properly introduce myself to you all. Take it as a chance for you to meet your new family too.
