H.R. 218 (LEOSA)
IP: 70.126.246.173

For those of you familiar with H.R. 218, the FOP is involved in a draft proposal in the Senate that will address the problems encountered with retired LEO's having problems in obtaining necessary paperwork for qualification. The amended proposal will provide for a "certified firearms instructor" being able to conduct training and qualify retired LEO's using the active duty standards as established by the State. If the State has not established any standards, standards set by any law enforcement agency within that State will suffice. I believe this is good news for some of our members who are certified firearms instructors. Not that you need it, any retired LEO members needing more information reference the FOP article, just give me a call. This will also make it easier for some of the in and out of state retirees who want to qualify.
