Another date from '94 not on Kitchen site - but I recall fondly, was a show in Dunedin, New Zealand w/ Superchunk and fantastic nz band the 3D's. Dunedin was home of the Verlaines and one of my favorite novelists - Janet Frame. Strange little city on the southern tip of the south Island. A University town, full of great characters, an ancient run down horse race- track overlooking the cold rough southern sea. We stopped at a beach nearby that had colossal, circular boulders,like Goliath sized marbles in the sand. Interesting place- Graeme Downes from the Verlaines teaches music at the University there today.
