Results of Carden Challenge Posted on May 25, 2009 at 06:29:00 PM by Ron Reid
The Carden Challenge this past weekend was very successful with 8 teams of four participating. The top team was the Wilson's Snipers, headed by Barb Glass, who found 125 species in the 24-hour period, followed by the Lagerheads with 124.
Lots of the expected species, with a great slate of warblers. The best being a Cerulean Warbler well-seen and heard by all 4 members of Barb's team on Wylie Road just south of the cabin - it didn't stay long. Nath Rockhill and her team heard a possible Hooded Warbler, but could not see it to confirm.
Thanks to all the birders who participated, and who helped raise over $15,000 for habitat conservation in Carden. Replies: There have been no replies.
