My name is Dan Lombard and I am one of the candidates running for the Fire Pension Trustee spot vacated by Tracy Walker. I had the pleasure of meeting with your Board of Directors today and found it informative, educational and enjoyable. They invited me to get on your message board and give you my "campaign speech." Sooooo....
I am a Driver/Engineer with 22 years experience with TFR and over 3 years experience as a trustee of our pension fund. I am assigned to Engine 9A. I am certified as a Pension Trustee from the state. I feel this gives me a great advantage over the other candidates with no experience on the pension board. If elected, I will be able to "hit the ground running" dealing with the issues at hand. I have always acted on the what I thought was in the best interest of the fund and promise to continue that practice for everyone involved. I would like to have a more open relationship with not only the actives, but all of the retirees. I would like to be able to visit your luncheons, meetings and be accessible by phone to discuss any the issues that you and your members feel need my attention. I can not promise to be in total agreement with all of your thoughts and ideas, but I can promise to listen to them. I think that it is important that the Pension Board be more agressive in running the fund and not just go with status quo. Given the fact, I will be retired soon and I would like to make sure that the fund continues to be as strong and really much stronger then when you entered your retirement.
When I left your BOD meeting this afternoon, I felt I had a better understanding of your associations desires for "our" fund and I would like the opportunity to once again work for all of us.
