To Larry Vincent, the Board of Directors, and the entire Association,
I want to thank you for the opportunity to meet today and to discuss my candidacy with you. Though I didn't get your endorsement, I understand your position on the matter. However, I would like to share my information with the rest of the group, if they are still undecided.
I am asking for your vote for the Fire Pension Trustee position.
I am a Fire Captain at Station 10-C, and have proudly served for over 21 years. I have spent over twelve years in Combat and nine years in Rescue. I served honorably for four years in the U.S. Navy prior to joining Tampa Fire, and have been married for over 20 years to the same beautiful girl.
I want to be your Firefighter Trustee because I believe I could help make a positive difference for all of us. Committed to the task of serving as your Trustee, I would perform my duties with integrity and fairness, focusing on keeping the fund actuarially sound and improving retiree benefits if feasible. I'm also fortunate enough to have the off-duty time available to devote to the position. I have known the other two trustees for a long time, and I'm positive we would work well together.
I would invite all to check with any actives or recently retired that know me as to my standing. I'm confident that my story over the last 21+ years has been one of honesty, hard work, and consistency. That's the same philosphy I'll bring to the position.
I am also currently endorsed by the other Retiree's association.
Regardless of choice, please take the time to vote. The election is next Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday - June 16th – 18th. Those on the north end of town can vote at Fire Station #13.
If you have any questions of me, please feel free to give me a call.
