The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

Plague turned slowly to see Nephthys pull herself out of the shadows that she belonged to. It was plain to anyone that what she had been through had changed her and not so much for the better. When facing her, he bowed, contented to for get about any rank that anyone held for the moment. It had been clear from the start that N could never be kicked out of her rank and it could never be challenged for, well, unless N herself accepted said challenge. Plague judged that not many would indeed throw themselves into such a situation with pain and death being the only outcome. Plague took a step forward, but stopped himself there; his safety around an insane wolf didn’t bother him much. He had accepted the fact that she could fight and win against him if she set her broken spirit against him. He decided to try and not invoke a fight, but he wasn’t exactly sure which subjects would…set something off and which ones wouldn’t. Plague decidedly sat, his massive frame neatly dropping to its haunches, muscle rippling with every small shift or movement.

Nephthys. Thank you for coming, to be truthful, I wasn’t sure you would…

Plague allowed a small smile to slip onto his maw, but it soon disappeared, his features quite motionless while he spoke to the broken fae before him.

I called you to, well, to try and straighten out where we both stand in relation to each other. I know that there’s a good chance you will never accept me or even trust me at all…but I thought there could be little harm in asking.

He briefly smiled again, as if laughing silently at his own private joke and then again, his smile was gone. A question was burning a hole through his voice box and he simply had to ask her about Eclipse, in particular what would happen if he returned. He knew the king was powerful and obviously, had the qualities of an alpha. Plague wasn’t exactly sure why he left, it seemed no one was, not even his mate, who was shredded multiple times in the process. The more Plague thought about this Eclipse guy, the more he wanted to find him and make him squeal like a little fae in labour pain. On the inside, Plague appeared calm and collected, but on the inside, his mind raged furiously, he also knew he had no right to touch Eclipse and therefore, the next question just kind of came out. It was without warning at all and although Plague cursed himself silently for asking it, knew that the worst possible thing that could happen was that she attacked him. If so, he would simply walk away, or more likely run away until she tired of it and let him be. Plague held his breath and waited for the answer.

I would like to know what would happen if Eclipse returned. I want you to tell me what would happen to him.

Plague didn’t smile this time. His muddy amber pools simply looked into her emerald and sapphire holes and waited.
For anything.
