'Scare?' It was difficult to discern emotion from hand movements... tone of voice, facial expression, and breathing had no effect upon the letters that the boy spelled out. But it was still clear that he was confused by her words, enough that he opened his eyes again, and looked at the ceiling above himself more thoroughly. Tan... now just what was wrong with tan? Tan was a neutral color, having little to no personality of its own, and really hardly a 'color' at all. So... what was wrong with tan...? Wait... wait. All the ceilings at the trailer were white. Every room had a white ceiling, regardless of the color scheme of the rest of the room. That thought made him tense, and sent his brain running at a mile a minute - why was he seeing a tan ceiling, when there weren't any in the trailer? Finally, though his brain was working slower than molasses, thanks to his mental condition and a couple of the drugs Dr. Marachek had given him to keep him relaxed, he understood - this wasn't home. And furthermore, when he looked around more thoroughly, he knew exactly where he was. He tensed harder, and gripped Summer's hand tightly, making the first motion to sit up... but fortunately, he couldn't go very far. The sedatives he'd been given kept him from moving about very much, and kept his brain from going into quite the overload that it otherwise would have when he figured out where he was. So he never managed to sit up, letting his head sink back against the pillow, since that had been all he'd been able to lift. His eyes closed, and his next letters were difficult to read, because his hands were shaking. 'Why?'
