In complete contrast with what would have happened if anyone else had tried to hug her, Cassidy melted into Lanny's embrace, keeping her eyes hidden against the fabric of his shirt but otherwise taking the comfort and support that one is meant to derive from a hug. Fortunately for the both of them, there was no one else in the room, so neither one of them had to feel self conscious about this - they could just enjoy it. And for several long moments, Cass did just that, letting out a few frightened tears as he held her, but mostly enjoying the protection and affection that his hold implied. It wasn't until over a minute later that she finally spoke up, her voice whisper-soft. "Okay Lanny... I promise. I trust you."
