Ice Mountain

The Ice Mountain is much smaller than Wolf Mountain, yet climbing up it is far more difficult and shouldn't be attempted in winter. Some creatures collect the shiny stones at the peak of this mountain for necklaces.

The tall wolf shook the accumulating snow from his coat, sending it into a flurry around his jogging form. Golden paws made no noise on the frosted ground and flakes scurried around, falling lightly from the sky. At the peak, there was a blizzard, one the wolf was just escaping now. The morning had started out with nothing but sun and blue skies, but that surely wasn't the case this afternoon.

Caesar gave a light cough, a slight pain coming from his weak lungs. Taking in a slow breath, the young wolf shuddered outward air, a cloud of steam coming from his mouth. The coffee and gold marbled boy shivered uncomfortably, not out of cold but pain. His poor lungs could not take the cold air as well as many other wolves, but he had ways of getting around that. The young brute just didn't want to use any blessings until he was further down the mountain. No use in wasting all your energy if you can't make it home.

The air was much warmer at this altitude than at the peak, and so Caesar felt it was a good time to put a blessing into effect. The coffee and gold marbled wolf took in another deep breath, resisting that itch to cough. Instead, he closed his eyes and focused as he jogged, activating his fire blessing in a very strange way. There were no flames, but an envelope of heat surrounded the wolf's body, making it much easier to breath even with his weak lungs. Living in the Ice Pack, this trick was learned early and used often, quite easy to do and sustain now.

The wolf jogged on for a few minutes before he saw the stranger. Golden eyes narrowed on the gray canine, watching the other as he continued to jog down the steep, craggy rock and ice surface of Ice Mountain. Caesar stopped several paces away, watching the stranger climb for a long moment. The snow was no longer clinging to his heated fur, but melted as it cascaded gently around him. "Hello?" he ventured, curious about this new face.
