The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

Before Jewel could even get a word out, Baroq had wedged himself in front of her, firstly, one was an intruder, and secondly, the other tried to place her in his mates own rank! She thought…she thought they were newcomers? Not only was this wolf obviously stupid and thoughtless, but did she not have a nose couldn’t she smell the simple scent of the pack on them. Her scent was still weak, a newcomer and a stupid one at that. Baroq was about to say something when he scented a particular wolf, it not only made him brave enough to smile and silently snarl at the silly wolfess.

----------------------------------------------

Ebon paws dipped into green pools of foliage without any slack in their pace. He had been listening and observing his packs members, not being able to find Kimani, he decided to check up on his family, he couldn’t find either Nephthys or Firestorm and Beowulf. He had known the brute had awoken, but he hadn’t seen them since, although they still resided in the pack, for now, they seemed to of tucked themselves away into some hidden corner. For now, Plague would let them be as they were; the brute needed nothing but rest and some loving care. Plague still had to thank the brute for saving what he now considered a very tangible sister in law. Even if Nephthys wasn’t exactly in the normal state of mind, she was still able to think for herself and make the mostly correct decisions. Kimani knew best about her sister, so if she chose to act on nothing, Plague would not take any other path. So Plague had headed for his Zetas, Baroq and Jewel.

To be honest, he had been spying no them a little, but for no other reason than to protect them, he wasn’t out for gossip, but the scent of an intruder did make him think he probably should listen to rumours a lot more. With the new knowledge of Jewel being in pup, he decided to tread softly, his massive ebony frame stepping quietly into the open, from which he previously had been completely unseen in his hunter’s crouch. He nodded to his Zetas, only choosing to step out now as Baroq seemed just about to do something he might regret. Though, he couldn’t blame him, having an intruder so near to his pregnant mate. His voice was calm; his large skull held high and his banner curled over his spine in a scorpion-like tail, ready to strike if needed.
His muddy pools pierced the newcomer and the intruder. He focused on the intruder first, feeling she needed a lesson in bordering.

You have about ten seconds to get your pathetic hide out of my pack. Say a damned word and I’ll throw you out to the birds.

With her fleeing instantly, he turned up the newcomer who had disrespected her higher ranks.

Wolf, let me educate you, you are an Omega in my pack and to disrespect to any other pack member, especially higher ranks than yourself, is to disrespect to me. This will be your first and last warning to learn respect for other pack members. I shouldn’t even have to mention the fact that you somehow tried to assume these Zetas are newcomers and therefore tried to hold them off when they are not indeed even on a border. Now, get out of my sight.

Plague turned back to Jewel and Baroq, now having both wolves fled from the very sight of him, he simply smiled at sat down, speaking up, his gracefulness back and his sternness gone.

I’d hate to be labelled a spy on my own land, but I heard the news of my own accord. Congratulations to both of you. Jewel, I must imply that I’ll understand if you miss anything, pack-wise, I’m not one to mess with a moody pregnant fae.

Plague snorted, to show he was joking and then stood, letting his ebon frame stretch and his jaws stretch open in a big yawn and then twisting his neck this way and that. Finally he nodded to both of them, upon which Baroq thanked him. Plague looked back over his shoulder and smiled back at them, they seemed such a happy little family. A thing previously quite strange to the ebon male, if not completely unknown of at all.

No problem. Just looking after my family.

He trotted off into the distance, destination figuratively unknown. He’d probably go look for Kimani or Beowulf some more.
