I came across an interesting article on ebay. It was from a 1961 tv supplement of the Pittsburgh Press. It talked about the actual cost of Richard Boone's wardrobe on HGWT. What follows is a list of wardrobe and prop costs;
4 suits with accessories -2000.00
Trail cloths ( shirt-$60, pants-$50, boots-$80, hat-$25
Red elkskin jacket with Persian lamb collar - $400
Gaunlet gloves- $30, cashmere scarf - $50
Full dress opera suit- $450
Silk brocade smoking jacket - $225
Guns ( 4 large $125 per., 2 derringers $45 per.)
Holster - $55 ( All of us who paid $800 plus to Alphonso can now weep openly )
Weatherproof sheepskin jacket - $375
Even in 1961, it cost quite a bit to be Palabin Replies:
