The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

[All right, so Russet, I think you need to change your name because there’s a female wolf at Moondown Shadows with that name already.
Also, Charmer, this is Andere Seite. In your last post, you said “Abendrot”.

Beowulf, though still healing from the recent six month comatose, was actually regaining strength at a decent rate. His muscles were still quite soft, though had begun to tone in several areas, plus in the last few weeks he had gained ten to fifteen pounds back. No longer were his ribs very visible along his sides. And during the past few weeks he regained not only the basic things of his life, but also began actually remembering things that had happened. Like, small things … though when he tried to replay the night that he had thought he died, the reel of tape in his mind stopped as he followed the lynx into the clearing. His dark brown pelt, he had noticed, had a few more early graying spots within it. Firestorm had stayed and helped him as much as she could, but the beautiful light grey femme obviously could not babysit him. She had pack duties to attend to, and one quality that both deltas shared was their fierce loyalty to the pack … once even causing an argument between them.

The male had decided he was healed enough now to go along for border patrol. This was his second day of “returning to the job”, one might say. The day before no newcomers had been within a decent range, and someone had always reached them before he had the opportunity. So he traveled through the wounding mazes that were formed through the thick forest. That was Andere Seite for you, plenty of mazes and thickly forested areas and shadows … yes, especially shadows. Shadows that the alphas and beta used to travel within and spy on all things in their land. They were watching him, for all he knew.

Beowulf’s form was already on its way to two newcomers –male and female- when two howls in succession were emitted from the waiting pair. Well, damn it, I’m not moving myself faster for you two. His tail remained in omega as he traveled, caring more about getting there than rank at that moment. To them he would look like an average male, muscle wise. Practically all long time loners were built in this leaner way, so perhaps it would appear he was a new addition to the pack. Once he completely regained his form from before the damn lynx fight, he would have quite an impressive form. Not without long scars along his sides from the stupid feline. His face was scarred as well, and no longer a handsome site as it once had been. Perhaps a bit intimidating even. He had been tattooed with all these defending his queen and her pup, though, and wore them without shame. Which made him realize he had not seen Nephthys since the attack, though was aware that she was now beta and her sister had taken over with her new mate. So he added that to his mental note … check in on Neph after dealing with the newcomers. And speaking of those newcomers, he had arrived at the border, remaining on Andere’s side, and now –with his tail raised up to delta- Beowulf trained his grey eyes upon the black and tan pair.

Before saying anything, his skull raised upward so his face was directly towards the grey sky. For the first time he noticed small, little flecks of white beginning to fall … perhaps they had only just begun to descend upon the earth. Forming his lips into an ‘o’ Beowulf sucked in a great amount of air into his large lungs. Once collecting the air, a powerful howl escaped his form. Traveling up and out, the song played the many tree branches as beautifully as harp strings, bouncing lightly against leaves and tickles the blades of grass below. The message gave the alphas a quick status report. He was there to watch the newcomers, so no rush to arrive, and as of then they had yet to submit or give introductions. After lowering his skull, his eyes once more rested upon them, more on the male than female.

Submittance is required if ye wishen to pleaseth thee monarchs.

His old English dialogue may have thrown them off, but the message was perfectly clear. They needed to submit, and before either alpha arrived. His expression was completely free of any emotion. Like a steel trap, giving nothing away. Now it was their move, submit or move onto a different land.
