one week after it was posted.
Freebies are often granted to "all active characters". A character is considered active if it has made an IC post within the last 2 weeks. Posts made after the freebie was posted do not count.

mostly for the benefit of newer players, but older players should bear note of this as well.
on the chat page there are a number of buttons to listings sites. when you click the button, our number of votes for shaman goes up; when we overtake someone else on the listing, we rank up. when we rank up, YOU get points.
check the news board regularly to see if we've ranked up. if we have, you can claim the number of points given for each of your active characters by posting on the updates board.
your updates board post should contain:
- a link to a post you wrote in the last 2 weeks (this is per character if you have more than one)
- the name of the character(s) receiving the points
- the amount of points you are claiming for (per character)
you cannot claim for rank-ups if the news post is more than a week old.
also, if you haven't posted for 2 weeks, there's a rank up and THEN you post afterwards, that doesn't count. the post you link to must have been written within the last 2 weeks and BEFORE the rank-up is posted.
