trying to put this as vaguely as possible ;p
i've had several reports of people trying to 'copyright' things on the game, if that makes sense. this is not on.
the only thing that you can 'copyright' is a magical power which you yourself have invented and named. just because a character has something which (at this time) no other character has, it doesn't make it a unique thing to that character which no one else can ever have. please also remember that having powers on this game is a privilege, not a right.
sorry to nag, but this is a particular pet peeve of mine and i have absolutely no sympathy for it. powers, curses, blessings, personalities, histories, name variants, nicknames, phrases, words etc - you cannot stop someone from using them unless it's something you genuinely invented yourself. and, by invented, i mean you're the first person ever in all of history to do it, not just the first person on this rpg.
this doesn't relate to one incident - it relates to several, in fact - and it's not aimed particularly at anybody as a telling-off. i'm not singling anybody out here, i'm just letting you know how i work. i don't want to hear about any more of these incidents, and i don't want to hear about any complaints of "copying". it's silly, given the amount of fictional works which are out in society, to even contemplate the idea that something is truly unique.
