To all Retirees,
Please be advised of the passing of former TPD Officer Paul McDuffey. I met him in the Police Adademy. Paul was a very smart guy, he always knew the answer while most of us were lost. To the best of my knowledge, Paul spent 4 or 5 years at TPD then went to Law School. He was a practicing attorney here in Tampa. Paul had been in the hospital for a few days complaining of heart problems. On Tuesday, Jan 5, he was talking with his wife Betsy in his hospital room. He suffered a massive heart attack and could not be revived. Paul was 64 years young. His obit in in the Tribune today, for those who remember him. I will never forget Paul. I spoke with a good and long time friend of his, Nelson Horne. He gave me the details. Nelson was very sad about the sudden demise of Paul. The family is taking it fairly well. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Nelson and the family.
